According to police reports, city police were dispatched to 635 Park Street in reference to a 911 hang-up call.

The resident at the address, allegedly Sowell's grandmother, told police that Sowell was in the home when she returned home from work.

Sowell had asked her for a ride and she refused.

At that point, a verbal argument took place and Sowell allegedly got upset and broke the grandmother's cell phone and also a chair and the front door to the residence.

Sowell was spotted by police in the woods near the property, and was later arrested and transported to jail.

Police reports state that a previous order of protection, held by the grandmother against Sowell, had expired in November of 2011.

Savannah PD: Suspect Hid from Police in Caller's Home

Savannah, TN - According to reports from the Savannah Police Department, a man sought by police regarding a possible domestic assault tried to hide...in the home of his neighbors who originated the call to SPD.

Brian Paul Jones, 34, of 355 Airways Blvd. was arrested and charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest.

According to reports, the 8 year old son of Jones' girlfriend had gone to the neighbors where he stated that Jones was beating his momma. The neighbors then called police.

The responding officer met the neighbors, who then said that Jones had come into their home, saying "why did you call 911 - and hide me."

Jones then fled from the rear door of the neighbors' home in an attempt to hide.

Jones was later detained by Savannah Police near a fence that he had again attempted to hide behind.

Upon initial questioning, police stated that Jones had a strong smell of alcohol and extremely slurred speech. Jones then became aggresive towards police and attempted to pull away, yelling "Don't grab me like that."

Jones was arrested and charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest. According to police reports, there was insufficient physical evidence to substantiate an arrest for domestic assault.

The incident occurred at around 6:04 PM, Sunday, December 11th.
