Public Intoxication Arrest Made

Savannah, TN - On Friday, May 20th, Stacey J. Rhodes, 44, of 2015 Ryan Street, Apt. G4, was observed staggering around on Pickwick Road and officers saw her almost fall several times. She stated that she was not drunk, but had only taken the medicine she was given at drug rehab. Police asked her to perform one field sobriety test which she could not do. She was arrested for her own safety,charged with Public Intoxication and transported to Hardin County Correctional Facility.

Missing Cash

Savannah, TN - On Saturday, May 21st, Lisa Williams of 420 Patterson Road came to Savannah Police Department to report she had some money stolen. She stated that it had been taken while she was at 315 Belmont Street and that a person known to her was the only individual that had been around her purse. Loss was $78 in cash.

Lawn Mower Missing

Savannah, TN - Police responded to 180 Malcomb Street on Saturday, May 21st regarding a reported lawn mower theft. Resident Coy McAnally told officers his mower had been in his yard and that later when it began to rain he went out to put it under his carport and it was gone. Missing was a Murray Briggs and Stratton mower valued at $60.

Argument Leads to Domestic Assault Arrest

Savannah, TN - On Saturday, May 21st, Donald Gary Oliver, 46, and Doris Oliver, 42, of 45 Fairground Street were involved in an argument over whiskey. Mr. Oliver struck Mrs. Oliver in her left cheek and facial area with his right hand. Mrs. Oliver came to Savannah Police Department to give officers a statement and photos were taken of her injury. Mr. Oliver was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault. 

Man Confesses, Faces Drug Charge

Savannah, TN - On Saturday, May 21st, police were backing up a county unit which had located a stolen vehicle. While on the way to the scene, officerse observed an individual walking from the area the car had been discovered. When police asked him his name he stated that he was guilty. Officers were in the process of transporting him to the scene of the located vehicle and asked him if he had anything illegal on him and he stated he had a crack pipe. Derrick Wade, 46 of 2145 Glendale Road in Adamsville was arrested, charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and transported to Hardin County Correctional Facility.

Driver Faces DUI, Drug Charges

Savannah, TN - On Saturday, May 21st, police responded to Dodge Store on Wayne Road after receiving a report of an intoxicated driver. Officers observed a vehicle matching the description they had been given driving in the turn lane on Wayne Road and signalled the driver to stop. Timothy Mealer, 35, of 1033 Highway 72 in Pelham, AL appeared to be very nervous and had an odor of marijuana on him. Police gave subject some field sobriety tests to perform, which he was unable to do. He was read the Implied Consent Law and did provide a blood sample for testing. Officers found a metal container with a leafy, green material believed to be marijuana along with one small pink pill believed to be Seroquel 25. Subject stated he had been prescribed the pill by a doctor. The pill, the green substance and Mealer's blood sample were sent to the lab for testing. Mealer was placed under arrest, charged with DUI and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Schedule VI). 

"Brass Knuck" Assault Reported

Savannah, TN - On Sunday, May 22nd, Daniel Petty of 470 Walker Loop in Adamsville reported he was struck in the head by a pair of brass knucks worn by a person known to him while at 145 Davis Street. Victim did have a large cut on his head and was transported to Hardin Medical Center ER for treatment. After being unable to talk at the scene, Petty later told officers he was struck in the head and that witnesses had seen the incident but at the time it was not knon brass knucks had been used. Police spoke with other individual involved and were told that Petty had sold him some fake arrowheads and would not give him his money back. 

Mail  Vandalized

Savannah, TN - On Sunday, May 22nd, police were sent to 860 Pinhook Road regarding a report of mail having been taken out of a mailbox and damaged. Upon arrival, resident Theda Bumpus said that her mail was all over the side of the road and that this was the second time this had occurred. Ms. Bumpus also stated that all her mail had been opened and some had been destroyed.
