Creating a Build Server for MIT's App Inventor Service: Part II

In the follow up portion the previous post, Ron from StepWise Media walks you through the final steps of setting up the App Inventor for Android Build Server using Amazon's EC2. This portion covers installing JDK 6 (1.6) on the Linux server, unpacking and installing the MIT build server files, setting the security configurations in Amazon EC2 and finally testing to see if your build server is running properly.

Important "copy/paste" links:

Unpack-Inflate JDK 6:

sudo sh jdk-6u30-linux-i586-rpm.bin

Then:

sudo alternatives 

--install /usr/bin/java java /usr/java/latest/bin/java 1500

(The above is all one command from the $ prompt)

Then:

sudo alternatives --set java /usr/java/latest/bin/java

Unpacking the buildserver files:

tar -zxf for-BuildServer-v61-Jan-20.tgz

Navigate to the for-BuildServer-v61-Jan-20 directory by typing cd for-BuildServer-v61-Jan-20 Untar the BuildServer by typing:

tar -xf BuildServer.tar
then:
 killall java

then:

./launch-buildserver

Creating a Build Server for MIT's App Inventor Service
