Freda Ann Newman Nixon February 22 , 2010
On July 18, 1949 she was united in marriage to Allen Lafayette Nixon, who preceded his wife in death on May 14, 1997. Mrs. Nixon retired from Wal-Mart. She also had worked for Martin's Supermarkets in South Bend, Indiana. She departed this life on February 20, 2010 in Knoxville, Tennessee at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 22 days. Mrs. Nixon is survived by 2 sons, Larry A. Nixon and his wife Harriett of North Liberty, Indiana and Jud Nixon and his wife Sue of Knoxville, Tennessee 7 grandchildren, Kenneth Klockow, David Klockow, Kimberly Bostic, Charles Klockow, Edward Nixon, Cody Nixon and Amy Quick 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters one brother, Carl H. Newman and his wife Pauline of New Iberia, Louisiana and one sister-in-law, Marietta Newman of Lago Vista, Texas. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Randall Justin Nixon and Alecia Penner, one sister, Lavelle Newman Holley and 2 brothers, James A. Newman and Charles Ray Newman. Visitation and calling hours will be Monday, February 22nd, 2010 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, 450 Church Street Savannah, Tennessee A service will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Chapel, 450 Church Street Savannah, Tennessee with interment at Milledgeville Cemetery in Milledgeville, Tennessee.
