Mr. Walters was a disabled Packer/Receiver with Praxis-LLC in Savannah, TN. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was wounded in a mortar attack while stationed at Long Binh, South Vietnam in May, 1968. At that time, he was medically evacuated from Vietnam after which he returned to civilian life as a resident in Collinwood. Mr. Walters departed this life on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 62 Years, 5 Months, 15 Days after a sudden illness. He is survived by two brothers, Charles Walters and wife, Misako of Tehachapi, CA and William (Billy) Walters of Knoxville, TN; brother-in-law, Otha (Toot) Smith; nephew, Bryan Smith and wife, Ann, and their daughters, Ashley and Amanda; and niece, Malinda Walters. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Walters was preceded in death by a sister, Joe Anne Martin Smith. A graveside service with military rites was held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at McGlamery Cemetery in Collinwood, Tennessee with David Smith officiating and Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers were Mike Tyron, Dustin Smith, Stan Smith, Fred Grolick, David Smith, Jr., Darrell Ericson. Honorary pallbearer was Joey Brown.
Mr. Staggs was a retired machinist at Lincoln Brass Works . He is survived by his wife Lillis Aleen Caperton Staggs of Waynesboro, TN; Visitaion will be on Thursday, August , 19, 2010 5:00-9:00 pm and on Friday, August 20, 8;00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro.
She was united in marriage to Mark Wilson on January 26, 1980 and attended Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro. Sherry had worked at Ace Hardware and Mathis Hardware but was employed as a court clerk for the City of Waynesboro from April 16, 1999 until her death. Sherry departed this life on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee after a sudden illness at the age of 53 Years, 2 Months, 6 Days. She is survived by her husband, Mark Wilson; a daughter, Marlynna Mace and husband, Cody; two grandchildren, Payton and Blaine Mace; her mother and step-father, Jennie Lou and Willard Hunt; a step-sister, Tami Skelton all of Waynesboro, TN; aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to her father, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Wilson and a step-brother, Stoney Wayne Hunt. Services will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Greg Eaton and Kerry Franks officiating and burial in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Friday, August 20, 2010 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Donna Gail McCurry Rich of Cypress Inn, TN; two daughters, Amy Calvi and husband Michael of Bentonville, Arkansas, Ashley Dugger and husband Michael of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Sophie Noelle Calvi and Cayleb Michael-David Dugger; three sisters, Betty Tatum and husband Harold of Waynesboro, TN, Brenda Rich of Cypress Inn, TN, Vicky Butler of Lawrenceburg, TN; four brothers, Larry Rich and wife Cheryl of Leoma, TN, Gary Rich of Nunnelly, TN, Harlan Rich and wife Tammy of Collinwood, TN, Ricky Rich and wife Terrie of Collinwood, TN; several nieces and nephews. |


Martin Lewis (Moose) Walters of Collinwood, TN was born March 6, 1948 in Collinwood, Tennessee, the son of the late William (Bill) Edward and Geraldine (Dean) Martin Walters. He was united in marriage to Donna Carol Swindle on July 8, 1995 and she preceded him in death on August 26, 2008.
Mack Staggs was born March 18, 1929 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the son of the late Clarence and Cordelia Gobbell Staggs. In addition to his parents, Mr. Staggs was preceded in death by brothers, Lonnie Staggs and Marvin Staggs; and grandson; Matthew Staggs.
Sherry Lynn Pope Wilson of Waynesboro, Tennessee was born June 11, 1957 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the daughter of Jennie Lou Devers Pope Hunt and the late Jessie Thomas (J. T.) Pope.
David Harold Rich was born February 9, 1953 in Collinwood, Tennessee, the son of the late Cemon D. and Emmo Jean Risner Rich. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rich was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Gene Rich.
